PRIVATE HOUSE

Residential building / Location: Carnikava, Latvia
Year : 2025 / Size: 276 m2
Status: Completed

The central part of the site that is suitable for development overlaps with
a small and attractive pine grove, which was important to preserve.
Therefore, the new building was designed as a pixel-like composition,
with the volumes arranged to preserve as many of the existing pine trees as possible.
The architectural and functional solution is thus a balance between
the functional needs of the building and the natural qualities of the site.

The overall appearance of the building is also an important part of the design.
To create a unified visual character, an open metal column structure
is proposed around the new building. This structure creates a multifunctional framework
where enclosed building volumes are combined with open timber terraces,
landscaped areas and canopies. The regular rhythm of the columns brings all these
elements together and creates a harmonious and well-proportioned overall composition.
