The competition required to preserve the existing two-storey building and observe 8 m distance between the existing and the new building. The biggest challenges were to reduce the break in the perimetral housing scheme on Bruninieku street, functionally connect the existing building with the new one and relate it with the diverse buildings on the neighbouring landplots.
